Douro Valley is a Unesco World Heritage site and the oldest demarcated wine region in the world!
Boundaries were determined for the Douro Valley vineyards in 1756, making it the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Grape harvest and wine production goes back 2,000 years, however, and the support of the people led to the recognition of the vineyards as a Unesco World Heritage site.
Douro Valley has an abundance of spectacular hiking opportunities and you’ll discover with us.
This is a gentle stroll through the patchwork of vineyards, olive groves and idyllic panoramic viewpoints – there’s no better way to discover the picturesque scenery of the region than on foot.
We start the hike in Casal de Loivos and we end at Quinta do Bomfim, where we will have a wonerful picnic lunch with wine and then we will go for a wine tour to have the opportunity to taste and learn more about Douro wine and Port wine.
